Hi, This cake looks just like the one my Oma used to make – I am trying to replicate it for my mom’s birthday this week.
I am a bit unsure about the potato flour…I have seen that there is potato flour and potato starch, and I’m not sure which I should use. Would it be possible to make this recipe with regular, all-purpose flour? Why does it call specifically for potato flour? Thanks very much in advance for any help you can provide!
Hi! Potato flour and starch are the same thing. The recipe is a family recipe at the cake has always been made with potato flour. I would guess you could use all-purpose flour. I have´t tried it. Let me know if it works out well. It is a little bit tricky to translate a recipe from german to english.
Thanks very much for your quick response! I will try it out and let you know how it goes! 🙂
Even the way you have decorated the cake is the same as how my Oma did it!
