For all who do not like to work with gelatin leaves, here comes good news. Some will know gelatin powder.
I haven’t heard of it until recently.
Great, simple and fast.
For this strawberry cake I have tried it for the first time. A great alternative to gelatin leaves.
Ingredients for the base
5 tbsp of sugar
1 tbsp vanilla sugar
5 tbsp vegetable oil
1 c flour
2 tsp of baking powder
5 tbsp milk
Combine eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar. Whisk until smooth. Add the oil and all the other ingredients and mix them to a smooth dough. Pour the dough into a greased baking tray (10 in).
Bake the base in the pre-heated oven(350 F) for 15-20 minutes. Leave it to cool.
1 1/2 lb fresh strawberries
1/2 c of sugar
1 1/2 tbsp gelatin powder
1 1/4 c of whipping cream(pre-beating)
1 tbsp of vanilla sugar
3 tbsp strawberry jam
Place the base on a plate with a pastry ring around it
Spread the jam on the base.
Cut the strawberries and purée them together with the sugar in a blender
Beat the cream with the vanilla sugar.
Mix the gelatin powder in the strawberry puree and add the cream.
Spread the strawberry cream on the base.
Put the cake in the fridge overnight.
